Broadcasters & Community Members
Volunteer Opportunities
Our community is most active on Discord. Join our server to socialize with other community members, learn more about our events and programs, and be among the first people to know about local opportunities for broadcasters.
SOBA is powered by volunteers from the content creator community who support the organization’s mission of elevating the content creator community. If you are interested in volunteering, please email the leadership team at info@seattleoba.org.
Business Development
Business Development consists of the Partnerships, Marketing, and Events Teams. These teams are responsible for partnerships, evangelism, and events.
Partnerships Team
The mission of the Partnerships team is to identify and develop endemic (native to gaming and content creation) brand partnerships for to support our events, activities, and programs.
The Partnerships teams will work closely with the Broadcaster Development team to develop data-driven mechanisms to identify community members with development potential for opportunities to participate in activations.
Marketing Team
The marketing team is responsible for keeping the visual and brand guide, website, and social media channels up to date with consultation with leadership, advisors, and the community.
The marketing team is responsible for social media and works with the production team on video branding along with channel branding, emotes, and badges. Working together with other teams, the marketing team updates the public-facing Notion pages with information about broadcaster successes.
Events Team
It’s the event team's job to ensure everything related to an event is taken care of, from idea conception to programming and day-of logistics. Meeting with clients, scouting locations, managing vendor relationships and client communications, establishing and negotiating contracts, and managing budgets are all part of the events team, as are setting and managing clients’ and vendors’ expectations. The events team is charged with creating experiences and bringing visions to life.
Production & Development
Production & Content Development
The Production & Content Development team is responsible for developing original content to educate and elevate the broadcaster community. Volunteers on this team work on developing original content to elevate members of the community by providing them with a space to share their experiences and knowledge. Most of this work involved developing content for regular live-streams and panels.
Broadcaster Development
The Broadcaster Development team is responsible for providing community members with personal and professional development opportunities that assist with soft and hard skills development.
Volunteers assist with the Broadcaster Development Pipeline, which is SOBA’s mechanism for providing broadcasters with knowledge and hands-on experience that allows them to succeed as professionals by providing them relevant industry experience in game development, marketing, and broadcast production.
Social Impact & Grants Team
SOBA is seeking volunteers to continue our mission in making empowering not just our communities but as many others as we can. We believe strongly that the content creator space is a powerful tool and community to be used to make support one another.
Support for SOBA’s programs to elevate and empower broadcasters comes from membership, sponsored content, partnerships, and support from various programs. This team specifically works with non-endemic entities outside of the gaming and content creation space such as government and community organizations to evangelize SOBA’s mission and objectives, communicate alignment with their interests, and secure support for our programs and activities.
